Josh founded Fisher Law Office in Silicon Valley in 2009, relocating to Austin in 2018.

His experience includes senior in-house attorney roles with an industry-leading software/SaaS provider of data integration tools and with an Internet communications technology giant, in addition to years of legal practice with an Am Law 100 global law firm and with Fisher Law Office.

Josh is an active member of the IP and Technology Transactions Practice Group of the California Lawyers Association’s Intellectual Property Section and holds four certifications in data privacy and security law from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Josh received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law and a master of science degree in Information Technology and Telecom Systems from John Hopkins University.  He is admitted to practice in Texas, California and New York.

Fisher Law Office recent representations have included:

Data processing agreements to comply with EU GDPR and other data protection laws, including most recent EU Standard Contractual Clauses and U.K. SCC Addendum.

Procurement-side or sales-side master services agreements and master licensing agreements in the following segments: Account-based marketing technologies; Creation, syndication, and management of digital content; Data integration and data cataloging; Security vulnerability management, security assessments and pen testing; Sales activation technologies; Payment processing and expense processing/management; Staffing/recruiting services and HR technologies; SaaS and software feature testing and management; Financial management/accounting technologies and services; Data center co-location and data backup storage facilities; and Semiconductor supply-chain transactions.

Josh’s in-house experience includes senior positions at Gartner Magic Quadrant data integration tools provider Talend, Inc. and Internet communications technology leader Cisco Systems.

At Talend, Josh negotiated and closed a high volume of master software subscription, SaaS and professional services agreements with enterprise customers throughout North America and the Asia/Pacific region and handled intellectual property and data privacy/security matters.

At Cisco, Josh managed a team of attorneys and contract negotiators responsible for sales and licensing agreements with the largest U.S. telecommunications carriers. He also co-founded a strategic negotiations group within Cisco’s supply-chain organization, which streamlined contracting practices and agreement templates for semiconductor procurement and related aspects of the technology supply chain.

Josh started his legal career as a securities and international corporate transactions attorney at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now WilmerHale), an Am Law 100 global law firm.

Background

Originally from southern Arizona, Josh spent many years on the East Coast in Boston, New York City and Washington D.C. before relocating to Silicon Valley with Cisco Systems in 2006. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and relocated to Austin in 2018.
